GISEC Global 2026 concludes in Dubai

GISEC Global 2026 took place from 16 to 18 September 2026 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai, bringing together the international cybersecurity community for the event’s 15th edition.

The event, held under the theme “Cyber First: The New Digital Order,” brought together government representatives, cybersecurity leaders, technology companies, CISOs, startups and investors at a time when organisations are facing increasingly sophisticated digital threats.

Organisers anticipated more than 25,000 information-security professionals from over 180 countries, alongside more than 750 cybersecurity brands. GISEC describes itself as the largest cybersecurity event in the Middle East and Africa.

AI, critical infrastructure and digital resilience in focus

Cybersecurity discussions at GISEC Global 2026 covered areas including artificial intelligence, cloud security, data protection, governance, risk and compliance, cryptography, cyber insurance, incident response, IoT security, malware, network defence and emerging technologies.

The programme also addressed the growing impact of AI-enabled threats, deepfakes, ransomware and the increasing exposure of critical infrastructure to sophisticated cyber risks.

The event was held in collaboration with the UAE Cybersecurity Council, with the Dubai Electronic Security Center as official government cybersecurity partner and support from the UAE Ministry of Interior and Dubai Police.

Dubai strengthens its position as a cybersecurity hub

The event also reflects Dubai’s broader positioning as a centre for technology, digital transformation and cybersecurity innovation.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum officially opened GISEC Global 2026 on 16 September. According to the Dubai Media Office, the event provided a platform for international cooperation, strategic partnerships and cross-sector collaboration as geopolitical developments, AI-enabled threats and pressure on critical infrastructure reshape the global cybersecurity environment.

For companies operating in the UAE, the growth of events such as GISEC also reflects the increasing importance being placed on digital resilience at both government and enterprise level.

Cybersecurity is increasingly a corporate issue

Cybersecurity is no longer solely an IT function.

As organisations rely increasingly on cloud platforms, digital government services, remote access, online banking, data platforms and interconnected business systems, cyber risk increasingly overlaps with corporate governance, operational continuity and regulatory compliance.
